Trampolining is an exciting athletic past time that can be even more fun when you add in some cool tricks. Many people want to do more than simply bounce up and down on their oversized trampoline. If you're one of them, keep reading to learn a few trampoline tricks. Before we get into that, let's talk about safety. Trampolines can be perfectly safe when a few precautions are taken. Always stay in the center of the trampoline, and install a safety enclosure around the trampoline to avoid injury from bouncing or falling off. It's also wise to always have someone with you when practicing on a trampoline.

Before you're ready to perform any tricks, you'll need to warm up. This can be achieved with a few minutes of gentle bouncing. The simple act of jumping up and down on a trampoline helps rev up the body's circulation, warm up the muscles and avoid strain. After you've warmed up sufficiently, you're ready to try some fun stuff. One of the first trick bounces you can try is the pirouette.

The pirouette is performed by turning a circle when in the air. To achieve this, you'll need a bounce with some momentum. At the peak of the bounce, extend your arm and propel your body around, making a circle. And that's all there is to it! If a full pirouette is too difficult, start off with a half twist until you get the hang of it. The split bounce is another jump that looks simple but requires practice. When you reach full height, extend your legs straight out like you're doing a split then bring them back together. This is not only a fun jump, but it's great for increasing flexibility.

Many trampoline enthusiasts want to learn to do flips on their trampoline. This should only be done on a competitive quality trampoline and should always be supervised. Never start your flip until you've achieved sufficient height, and always follow proper form. The chin and knees should be tucked into the chest when flipping. To get an idea of how this looks, you may want to get a video or book on acrobatic trampolining so that you can see it demonstrated by a professional. When learning and performing trampoline tricks, you should always take proper safety precautions and learn the proper way to execute each one before attempting anything.
